In early January each year the menswear world descends upon Florence, Italy for Pitti Uomo, and this season I had the chance to attend. Four days of photo shoots, networking, people-watching and reveling in the charming Florentine culture, the experience lived up to the hype. Here’s what I wore each day.

Day 1

For my first Pitti Uomo look I wanted to showcase this beautiful custom brown Worsted wool flannel double breasted suit from Proper Cloth. Keeping the ensemble comfortable but polished, I styled the suit with a cream turtleneck and cream socks for a pop of contrast against the dark fabric. The shoes are my favorite Ralph Lauren tassel loafers and I added a patterned scarf from Eton Shirts for a subtle debonair detail.

day 2

On Day 2 the theme was sprezzaturra, and I paired a pinstripe suit jacket with white pleated trousers and a sweater. I again opted for tassel loafers, this time the black leather version from Carmina. The highlight of the look was the slightly oversized double breasted wool and cashmere camel coat from Cardinal of Canada, an ideal piece for layering.

day 3

Dat 3 was all about the Glen Plaid Wool Polo Coat from Ralph Lauren. Double breasted, peak lapels, belted back, gauntlet cuffed sleeves, slightly oversized fit. It checks all the boxes for me. I kept the rest of the outfit simple with a cable knit sweater, pleated trousers and bit loafers, keeping the emphasis on the coat and its flowing silhouette.

day 4

My last Pitti look featured one of my favorite brands in menswear, Todd Snyder. Todd’s collections always incorporate unique silhouettes, textures and colors, and their teal Italian Boucle double breasted coat was a real standout, especially when paired with wide leg charcoal grey corduroy trousers, with reverse double pleats, of course.
